M.S.131 Community Day Field Trips!

On Community Day M.S.131 students’ groups had great fun exploring New York City’s most iconic places including the Time Square, OCulus at the World Trade Center, Central Park in Manhattan, South Street Seaport Museum, Korean Town, and Chinatown. 📸🍦🍱🎨

Photo Enrichment Gallery Visit

As a part of their first photography project, the Photo Enrichment students (6th grade) visited the “Hands” exhibition at Carriage Trade, a gallery located on Grand Street. Gallery owner Peter Scott, gave them a tour and spoke to them about the photos and the power of gesture in photography.

Leukemia-Bridge Walk

Leukemia   Our 6th grade organized and led a bridge walk to honor the memory of Randy Li.  We raised thousands of dollars for Leukemia research to honor our dear friend and student.  Although Randy is no longer with us physically, his memory lives on with each of us.

Community Day

Community Day We are now able to bring back some of our 131 traditions, like community day.  On a recent Friday, students headed out into the community to participate in a variety of community service activities, including reading to elementary school students, volunteering at an animal shelter, and raising awareness about the war in Ukraine.  It was …
