8th Grade Prom

131 Visual Arts students displayed a curated selection of their work, showing a breadth and depth of talent impressive for any level, especially middle school.  Check out a few of the images of students viewing the work.

Spring Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair returned, and was warmly greeted as students learned it was a “Buy-One-Get-One” event.  Student bought many books, and teachers were able to pad their classroom libraries with the profits from the fair.  This was all thanks to the incredible parents who gave so much time to make it happen!

7th graders learn through the Listening Project

In collaboration with New York University, our 7th graders spent the last few weeks conducting oral histories to help understand the experiences of those close them.  The curriculum taught them how to write great questions, conduct interviews and follow up interviews, and distill the information into a coherent story.  Many students focused on parents and …

Lower Manhattan Art Show

Our student artists, under the tutelage of Mr. Phillips, showed their artwork at the “R & Company Gallery” on White Street.  The pieces were diverse, ranging from personal logos, to geometric designs to architectural plans.  Well done!

New Classroom Libraries

Thanks to a generous foundation grant, our ELA classrooms are getting brand new (and extensive), classroom libraries.  So far, three are in place, with two more on order.  As you can imagine, the students were thrilled to have so many new and exciting books to choose from.
