Yesterday, parents and students came together for our Honor Roll Breakfast, to celebrate students with a 90 average and above in the first Trimester.  It is hard to be so consistent in so many classes, with new teachers and expectations.  Great job everyone!

Today, the author Thanhha Lai, the author of inside out a back again, visited 8th grade students.  8th graders read her first novel, Inside Out and Back Again in class.  The book is about a Vietnamese refugee who resettles in Alabama.  Ms. Lai shared about her life as author, her writing process and answered tons …

On Friday, 4 candidates for student government president gave speeches to the school.  The candidates shared their ideas, and what they thought made them best for the position.  Election results coming by the end of the week.   A huge shout out to all four students for being brave, and trying to help the school!

At our Townhall on Friday, teachers gave out their first trimester awards.  Each class had an academic and most improved a ward for each subject.  Congratulations to all the students who won, and the many students who also did great work and showed great progress.  We have two more awards assemblies at the ends of …

MS 131 enjoyed our Halloween Extravaganza.  Thanks to the SGO for putting on the afterschool party!  So much candy!!!!

All MS 131 students headed out into the community to engage in community service, and have some fun!  Groups read to pre-schoolers, delivered meals to homebound seniors, helped landscape public parks, visited colleges, participated in jr. NBA, planned food drives, and more!
