Leukemia-Bridge Walk

Our 6th grade organized and led a bridge walk to honor the memory of Randy Li.  We raised thousands of dollars for Leukemia research to honor our dear friend and student.  Although Randy is no longer with us physically, his memory lives on with each of us.

Leukemia is cancer of the body’s blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system. Many types of leukemia exist. Some forms of leukemia are more common in children. Other forms of leukemia occur mostly in adults. Leukemia usually involves the white blood cells. In addition, Leukemia is the most common cancer diagnosed in children and adolescents younger than 20 years and accounts for 25.1 percent of all cancer cases in this age-group.
