Note that this account is different from your student account at MS 131. That means students will have two separate email accounts for school – one from the NYC DOE, and one for MS 131.
What each email address is for
NYC DOE Email – This email address will be sent information related to education city-wide, such as school closings, news updates related to COVID-19, and holiday information. Parents can also access students final grades, attendance, fitness results, and schedule through the NYC schools account. Students will not need to access this email daily, but should check it regularly (approx. once per week).
MS 131 Email Account – This email address will be sent information specific to MS 131, including emails from teachers, fellow students, and the principal. Students will use this email for their classwork and regular correspondences at school. This will also be the email account they sign into to access Google Classrooms and their classwork. Students should check this email multiple times throughout each school day (approx. once per class period).
